FP 7th Grade Boys Basketball Beat Owensville 48-14 The Forest Park 7th Grade Boys Basketball team had their first game of the season at home vs Owensville on Thursday evening. FP was able to win this game 48-14 with everyone contributing in some way. The 1st quarter started off with the Rangers holding Owensville scoreless, and the Rangers scoring 12 points. The 2nd quarter was a little harder for the Rangers to score, but they ended the first half up 18-4. FP had 6 guys score in that first half and also had three 3-pointers. The 3rd quarter continued with the Rangers playing some pretty good basketball, with the Rangers up 32-10 heading into the 4th. The Owensville Kickapoos stayed in a 2-3 zone so FP wasn't able to run many sets, but Coach Hochgesang wanted the boys to drive and find shots inside. The boys drove well in the second half but also found shooters at the 3 point line. One of those 3 point shooters was Cason Lubbehusen, who was able to hit 6 threes in the game (three of them being in the 4th quarter)!! FP was able to get 12/13 boys to score in the game as well. The Rangers finished the game with a win, but also had 11 turnovers. The boys and Coach realized that it was a good first game to get a win, but know they have things to work on to continue the season.
