The Lady Rangers 7th grade girls basketball team kicked off their season last night with a hard-fought battle against the Fort Branch Twigs, ultimately falling just short in a competitive 23-25 matchup. Madelyn Berg led the scoring effort with 8 points, followed by Raylee Weyer with 6 and Elsie Warren with 4. Berg and Warren also paced the team defensively, each recording three steals. Berg lead the team in rebounding with 8 (3 offensive), while Weyer added 5. Warren had a team-leading 3 assists. Despite a strong first half, the Lady Rangers struggled with turnovers in the second, tallying 17 total for the game. The team looks to bounce back in their next contest, a home game against Jasper on Tuesday.
