FP 7th Grade Boys Basketball lost to Southridge The Forest Park 7th Grade Boys Basketball team had their second home game against Southridge on Thursday evening. After a very disappointing effort vs Loogootee on Monday night, Coach Hochgesang was hoping his team would bounce back vs county rival Southridge. The first quarter started off not too bad for the Rangers as they kept it close. The Rangers fell off defensively after the first quarter. With the boys not rotating on defense and allowing middle drives for the Raiders, Southridge was able to get easy baskets to stretch their lead in the second half. The Rangers were able to execute their offense better than they did vs Loogootee, but struggled to score in the second half. Coach Hochgesang noticed that there were mismatches when FP was on offense so he tried to space out his offense and get the Rangers to drive past their defenders and make something happen. Southridge was able to force 12 FP turnovers as well. The Rangers ended up losing this A game 29-48 as they head into Thanksgiving break. Scoring vs Southridge A: Michael Christmas : 7 points (7-10 FTs) Cason Lubbehusen : 7 points (one 3-pointer) Luke Ebert : 6 points (two 3-pointers) Cash Lueken : 5 points (one 3-pointer) Blake Morrison : 4 points (1-4 FTs, one 3-pointer) The 7th Grade Boys Basketball B team had their first game vs the Raiders on Thursday evening with a close 22-29 loss. The Rangers were able to keep the game close until the last quarter when the Raiders found themselves gaining a lead. FP had 6 guys score in this B game, but the Rangers could not contest Southridge's five 3-point field goals that they hit. Forest Park could not hit their free throws and that is one of the reasons why they lost this game. The Rangers went 4-14 at the free throw line. Scoring vs Southridge B: Joel Flock : 6 points Declan Nord : 6 points Hunter Lange : 4 points (2-2 FTs) Cooper Wehr : 3 points Jax Jacob : 2 points Landon Rager : 1 point (1-2 FTs) The 7th Grade Boys Basketball team looks to bounce back against Tell City on December 1st for their second road game of the season. Wish them good luck!
