Ferdinand, Ind. — The Forest Park 8th Grade boys split their doubleheader with Perry Central on Saturday, falling 48–20 in the A game before bouncing back with a 39–28 victory in the B game. In the A matchup, the Rangers kept things competitive through the first half but struggled to handle Perry Central’s full-court pressure as the game progressed. Forest Park was led by Gavin Carroll and Blake Vaught, who scored 5 points each. In the B contest, the Rangers came out strong, building a 12–7 first-quarter lead and maintaining control the rest of the way. Forest Park’s offense was efficient at the free-throw line, converting 13 of 16, and found success from long range with O’Keefe, Benton, and Thomas (x2) each knocking down three-point shots. Collin Thomas paced the Rangers with 12 points. Forest Park returns to action on Tuesday, Dec. 9, hosting the Jasper Wildcats for another A and B doubleheader.
