The Forest Park 7th grade Lady Rangers battled their way to a 37–31 win over Pike Central in a game that wasn’t decided until the final minutes. Madelyn Berg led the charge with 12 points, while Raylee Weyer added 11 and Elsie Warren chipped in 8. Maci Combs and Annabelle Giesler rounded out the scoring with 4 and 2 points respectively. Warren lead the team's efforts on the boards, pulling down 8 rebounds — five of them on the offensive end — while Berg grabbed 7 and Combs added 5. Lena Schmuecker and Weyer each collected 3 rebounds, and Haylee Betz added 2. Defensively, Warren sparked the team with 4 steals, while Giesler and Combs each came away with one. Berg and Giesler shared the team lead in assists with 2 apiece, and Warren and Weyer each added one. It wasn’t the cleanest outing for Forest Park, as the Lady Rangers committed 23 turnovers, most of them in the first half against Pike Central’s press. But once they settled in a bit into the second half, the girls showed poise and resilience, closing strong to secure the win. The victory improves Forest Park’s 7th grade Lady Rangers' record to 7–1 on the season, with a home matchup against Heritage Hills on deck tomorrow.
