Forest Park 8th Grade Boys Finish Runner-Up at Dubois County Tournament

Ferdinand, Ind. — The Forest Park 8th Grade boys basketball team finished as runner-up in the Dubois County Basketball Tournament, hosted by Forest Park on Tuesday, Dec. 30. The tournament also featured county rivals Southridge, Dubois, and Jasper. In the opening game, the Rangers pulled away from Southridge in the second half to earn a 39–26 victory. Blake Vaught led all scorers with 13 points, helping Forest Park advance to the championship game. Jasper defeated Dubois in the other semifinal matchup, setting up a championship showdown between the Wildcats and the Rangers. The title game opened as a defensive battle, with the score tied 9–9 at halftime. Jasper found its rhythm in the second half, knocking down four of its five three-point attempts after the break to create separation. The Wildcats went on to claim a 31–20 win. Hudson Lueken led Forest Park in scoring with 6 points. The Rangers now turn their attention to their next matchup as they travel to Washington on Monday, Jan. 5, to take on the Hatchets at 6:00 p.m. EST.
