The Forest Park Rangers got off to a strong start on Friday but couldn’t keep up with Southridge, falling 9-4. Forest Park jumped ahead in the first inning. An error brought in the first run, and Riley Begle followed with a single to drive in two more, giving the Rangers a 3-0 lead. The Rangers added another run in the third when Hudson King doubled down the right field line to make it 4-1. Southridge began to chip away before taking control in the fifth inning. Taking advantage of walks, stolen bases, and a pair of errors, Southridge scored multiple runs to move in front and never looked back. Jaxon Lueken led Forest Park at the plate, going 2-for-3, while Begle finished with two RBIs. On the mound, Lueken struck out six batters over three innings to lead the Rangers’ pitching effort. Forest Park will look to bounce back on Saturday as they host Providence.
