The Forest Park Rangers recorded more hits than Providence on Saturday, but one big inning proved costly in a 10-4 loss. Forest Park got off to a strong start, scoring first in the opening inning when Jaxon Lueken doubled to bring in a run. The Rangers added to their lead in the second, as Eli Brockman doubled to make it 2-0. Providence turned the game around in the fourth inning. Taking advantage of walks and timely hitting, they scored 10 runs in the frame, highlighted by a grand slam that gave them control of the game. Despite the setback, the Rangers continued to compete at the plate. Grant Fleck and Brockman each collected two hits, while Brockman also drove in two runs. On the mound, Hudson King started and did not allow a hit over two innings. Damion Kline entered in the fifth inning and finished the game, holding Providence without a hit the rest of the way. Forest Park will look to bounce back on Tuesday as they host Tell City.
