The Forest Park JV Rangers brought the energy Tuesday night and turned an early deficit into a 10-7 win over Tell City. Tell City jumped out to a quick 4-0 lead in the first inning, but the Rangers didn’t hang their heads. They answered right back. Forest Park exploded for five runs in the bottom of the first to take the lead. Reid Fleck came up big with a two-run double that helped flip the game and get the Rangers rolling. Tell City tied it up in the second, but once again, the Rangers responded. Cash Laake drove in two runs to give Forest Park the lead right back, and this time, they didn’t let it go. The Rangers added on in the third inning with RBI from Rylan Fletcher, Trevor James, and Cohen Hoppenjans to stretch the lead to 10-5. Hoppenjans got it done on the mound, going all five innings. He battled the entire way, striking out five and not giving up a single walk. At the plate, Forest Park got production up and down the lineup. Six different players picked up hits, and both Fleck and Aiden Lubbers drove in two runs. The Rangers were aggressive on the bases all game, swiping six bags and putting pressure on the defense. They also played clean in the field, finishing without an error. After getting punched early, the Rangers answered with confidence and never looked back.
