Rangers Win in Extras Over Northeast Dubois

The Forest Park Rangers picked up a 6-2 win over Northeast Dubois on Friday, scoring late in extra innings to secure the victory. Northeast Dubois struck first in the second inning, taking a 1-0 lead on a passed ball. The Rangers answered in the third, as Jared Burger drove in a run on a groundout to give Forest Park a 2-1 lead. The game stayed close throughout, and Northeast Dubois tied it in the seventh to send the game into extra innings. Forest Park broke through in the eleventh. Burger delivered an RBI single to give the Rangers the lead, and Hudson King followed with a home run to right field to extend it to 6-2. The Rangers were strong on the mound all game. Carter Jochem started and went seven innings, allowing just two runs while striking out eight. King earned the win in relief, throwing four scoreless innings with six strikeouts. At the plate, Jochem, Burger, and Grant Fleck each collected two hits. Burger and King led the team with two RBIs. Forest Park will be back in action Tuesday as they travel to Mount Vernon.
