The Forest Park JV Rangers put the ball in play all night Wednesday, but couldn’t turn it into runs in an 8-2 loss to Barr-Reeve. Forest Park finished with seven hits on the night, showing solid swings up and down the lineup. Griffin Haas led the way, going 2-for-3 with two RBIs. Barr-Reeve took control early, scoring multiple runs in the first inning to jump out in front. A few walks and defensive miscues helped extend the inning and put the Rangers in an early hole. Barr-Reeve added another run in the second to build on the lead. Despite that, Forest Park kept competing at the plate. The Rangers continued to find ways to get on base and put pressure on, but couldn’t come up with the big hit to close the gap. Fleck took the loss on the mound, with Haas helping lead the way offensively. Even in the loss, the Rangers showed positives, consistent contact, multiple-hit performances, and a lineup that kept battling each inning.
