Tonight the Lady Rangers hosted their end of the year banquet before they head into Sectionals on Wednesday. MVP : This is going to someone who has played the hardest position in Varsity for 3 years but has played varsity for 4. This is someone who works hard, has improved tremendously this year from going 5-11 last year to 10-7 this year. This award went to Addison Schneider! Most Improved: This is someone who is new to varsity this year, but showed up this year a completely different person in the way she played last year. She has improved so much this year in her hits, serves, and her overall game. Her improvement did not come without work though, I could drive past the courts at 7 PM and see her working on any skill we went over during practice. This award went to Kenley Schipp! Ranger Spirit : Ranger spirit is someone who fits what it means to have exemplary leadership, takes initiative, tries their hardest at all tasks given, and helps others when needed. This year this award went to Bree Morrison! Mental Attitude : This is someone who showed incredible attitude towards her teammates and her opponents no matter the outcome of her matches. This is someone who coaches, parents and players have come up to me to tell me how her etiquette on the court is ten times better than most opponents in her spot. This award went to Addison Schneider! Varsity Letters: 2 new Varsity letters went out this banquet to Jenna Matthews and Nora Welp! Academic All State Individual: This is someone as a coach I have to nominate and it is rigorous to achieve. Your GPA has to be above 3.8 with an SAT score of 1280 or ACT score of 27. We only had one senior who met the requirements, the official paper will be in this summer but huge congratulations to Addison Schnieder for this accomplishment! Academic All State as a Team : Varsity earned this with an average GPA of a 3.947 Varsity team: Addison Schneider, Sydney Berger, Jenna Matthews, Bree Morrison, Anna Jahn, Abba Collignon, Kenley Schipp On the JV side of things we have 3 awards that we decide on! Ranger Spirit:This went to Nora Welp! Nora works so hard on anything you ask her to with not complaint. Mental Attitude: This went to Savannah Scherzer! Savannah is another hard worker on JV and never complains about anything! Most Improved: This went to Addison Hochgesang! Addison has improved so much this year overall! Both Coach Grundhoefer and Coach Helming are so proud of this group of girls. They finished the season 12-5 and conference 8-4. They are ready for sectionals this week and know they will work so hard! Wish the Rangers luck and congratulate them on yet another fantastic season!
