The Forest Park Rangers made history by claiming their first Sectional Championship while setting yet another 18-hole school record with an incredible team score of 299! Even more impressive, the 299 is the lowest team score recorded at the Jasper Sectional in the last 14 years. Leading the way were seniors Xander Fleig and Collin Lorey, who each fired outstanding rounds of 73, the low scores of the tournament. Fleig would later capture the title of Individual Sectional Champion after defeating Lorey in a sudden-death playoff. The Rangers also received a huge performance from Maddox Geyer, who shot a career-low 75, while Ben Rasche delivered another strong round with a 78. Freshman standout Miles Rea, considered one of the top freshmen in the area, rounded out the scoring with an 86. The Rangers will return to action Thursday at the Country Oaks Regional, where they will compete for a chance to advance to the State Finals.
