The Ranger Football team traveled to Washington last Friday to battle the Hatchets. It was a fight from the kickoff. Defense led the way in the first half, holding them to zero points and securing a safety. Going into halftime, it was 2-0 Rangers on top. The fun came in the second half when both Hudson King and Carter Jochem scored rushing touchdowns. King was 16 for 72 yards and Jochem was 20 for 56. Anden Uebelhor capitalized on postsnap assignments, rushing for 29 yards on 4 carries. Washington responded with 2 scores of their own. Through the air, Steven Reinke led with 3 catches for 65 yards. Cam Lueken added 42 yards on 3 receptions. Hudson Lueken 3 for 25 yards, Rylan Fletcher 2 for 25 yards, and King had 3 catches for 22 yards. Uebelhor finished 14/23 for 179 yards. With 8 minutes left, the defense stood strong, forcing the Hatchets to punt. With just under 5 minutes in the game, it was 15-15, and the offense took over. We marched down the field leaning on our offensive line and running backs. With 3.5 seconds on the clock, Parker Wolf lined up for a game winning field goal, but Washington called a time out to try to ice Parker. Wolf lined up....Kale King with the snap.....Hudson King with the hold....Wolf's kick was GOOD!!!! Rangers WIN 18-15!! For the first time since 2010, your Rangers are 3-0!!
