The Forest Park Rangers traveled to Northeast Dubois on Monday night for a non-conference matchup, but despite stretches of possession and pressure, they were unable to find the decisive goal in a 1-0 loss to the Jeeps. The decisive moment came early, as the Jeeps capitalized on a rebound in the 10th minute. A shot initially stopped by Rangers goalkeeper Dexter Meyer fell loose inside the box, where a Dubois attacker tapped it in for the only goal of the night. The Rangers spent much of the first half chasing the game, with Meyer keeping them close by making five saves on eight Jeep shots. Offensively, Forest Park struggled to find their rhythm, recording four first-half attempts but none on target. The second half saw more balance, as both sides exchanged periods of pressure. Northeast Dubois stayed aggressive, firing 12 more shots, with Meyer adding four saves to his total. The Rangers answered with seven attempts, but only two forced saves from the Jeeps’ keeper. Each side finished with just one corner opportunity as defenses held firm. Despite battling hard, Forest Park’s attack couldn’t generate the equalizer, as they dropped to 5-5 on the season with the 1-0 defeat. The Rangers will look to bounce back quickly in conference play when they travel to Princeton on Thursday night for a pivotal PAC matchup.
