The Forest Park Rangers traveled to Princeton Community on Thursday night for a PAC conference matchup against the Tigers, falling 2-0 after a competitive battle. The opening half saw both sides trading possession and creating half-chances, but it was the Tigers who found the breakthrough in the 30th minute. A cross from the right connected with a Princeton Winger at the back post, who slotted it home to give the hosts a 1-0 advantage heading into halftime. Ranger goalkeeper Dexter Meyer recorded one save in the period, while Forest Park registered five shots, forcing just one save from the Tigers’ keeper. Each team earned one corner kick in the half. Needing a spark after the break, the Rangers came out with added urgency. They created opportunities, firing seven shots in the second half, but once again struggled to put attempts on target, forcing only a single save. Princeton capitalized midway through the period, doubling its lead off a corner kick in the 61st minute. The 2-0 scoreline held, sealing the result for the Tigers. With the defeat, Forest Park moves to 5-6 overall and 4-4 in PAC play. The Rangers return to action on Monday, September 22, when they host South Spencer at Cedar Crest Intermediate. Kickoff is set for 7:45 p.m.
