On Thursday, the Lady Rangers welcomed South Knox to Best Home Furnishings Stadium for a semi-final match of IHSAA Sectional #47. The Lady Rangers wasted little time, dominating possession and creating chances in the open minutes; however, it wasn't until the 13' when senior Kate Pund headed in a corner from fellow senior Anna Muller for the opening, and eventual game-winning goal. Despite maintaining the lion's share of possession in the opening period of play, the home side couldn't secure another. After the break, the Lady Rangers kept applying relentless pressure and eventually securing the insurance goal in the 52' courtesy of junior Paige Memmer after she collected a loose ball in the box and fired it past the Lady Spartan Keeper. Minutes later, freshman Ellie Meunier slotted a ball through the back-line of the Lady Spartan Defense which was emphatically finished by senior Anna Muller. The Lady Rangers (12-4) will host the IHSAA Sectional #47 Championship on Saturday, October 11 at Best Home Furnishings Stadium where they will take on the Northeast Dubois Lady Jeeps.
